Day 20-Program Evalulation and Review Technique.

Today, we all wake up at 8am to prepare ourselves for lesson which start at 9am.At 8.45am, we all walked toward the classroom. When we stepped out of the hostel, we realized that it was raining heavily. We did not bring our umbrella and if we walked back we will be late and will need to pay a fine of 15 rmb again (class rule). Thus, we just walk quickly to the classroom. Today ,we studied PERT (Program Evaluation and Review Technique).It’s all about formula. It is use more frequently in R&D projects. With PERT ,we will know the mean and standard deviation duration of activity duration, mean and standard deviation for each activity and probability of different project duration. After doing some questions on PERT, we then proceed on to do practical. At 4pm, Ms Neo dismissed us. We then went back to our own room and meet up at 4.45pm for our dinner. We decided to treat ourselves with something nice ,thus we decided to go to 绿首阁西餐厅 to eat beef steak.

Reflection:

Many commented that eating in China is very cheap.I agree with that provided if you are eating along the streets.Eating in the restaurant like the one we visited was quite exorbitant.Nonetheless,I have to agree that both the atmosphere and taste of the food are great.Beside that, I feel that by fining students who are late is a good idea, students are mostly price or money conscious would tend to reach the classroom on time.There should be no reason as to why students are continually absent or late to class.Although, I feel that fining is an effective way to prevent students from coming late,I feel that educating students the importance of punctuality is of the top priority.Education can change the mindsets of students but by through fine alone it cannot do that.In addition,the only drawback is that the money might be coming out of their parents' pockets because the students who receive an allowance are getting it from their parents.Rich students may find the small amount of late fine means nothing to them , thus render the effectiveness of the fine.
