Day 34-Presentation

Today was the last day using the classroom. It was also our final presentation. Everybody woke up early to do last minute rehearsal on the presentation the present the best to the teacher. Everybody was very punctual however you can see some of them feeling lethargic. This is because everybody has put in lots of effort just to produce the best. Our group sends me out to draw lots on and we got the number 4 which means we are the fourth group to present. Eline tell me that they did an advertisement and after I have seen it, I decided to give a live advertisement. The whole group contributes idea to it and within 15minutes we have came up with the plan. When it was my turn to do the live advertisement, I was shy fearing that nobody will laugh and like it but it turn out perfectly well. All my friends say that I did a good job and I was very happy.Noor was the first group member to start the ball rolling.than soon it was my turn.

My part was to explain on the cost crashing and the diagram part.
After the whole presentation, the whole group was relieve and everybody have a wide smile on their face as all their hard work had earn the recognized from the teacher.

We value our diversity and are determines to stay a united people.
It is true that having noor in our group was a blessing. We do projects together, we think together and never did we discriminate him. We should not look down on others just because of their skin color instead we should treat all the people of equal status. So what if they are of different race from us, we are all Singaporean and what we are doing now should be for the society not individual.

Day 33- Project and Shopping mall

Today was the second last lesson for the trip and today lesson starts at 9am. And our last lesson was on presentation. We did 2009 revision paper until 12pm and after that Cynthia, ling li, Winnie and Janice when to shopping mall, Wal-mart to shop for last round of 特产.

Soon ling and I was busy with our project and we only meet them after we have finish with our project. Project management is a module which we can apply in school and later on in the working society. Ms Neo did her part by covering all the relevant parts and in exam, all the questions have been gone through my ms neo. I was the most ‘blur’ in the class and whenever we were doing practical, I will definitely ask her questions, and she will never fails to guide me with her patients. And after she finishes telling me, she will ask me whether I understand a not. She also will have lunch together with us which I like it a lot as she does not have the mindset that teacher is of a higher rank than students thus they cannot be mixed together. She also has a good balance between strict and fun. I asked her a question before, “we always give u so much problem, did you regret coming here, having to tolerate all the nonsense which you do not need to face it.” She say no, because of her passion of teaching. She have an in born teacher qualities, which I like it a lot. Some of the teachers teach because of status, some because of pay and I’m sure if you ask ms neo to pay for all the expenses just to teach, she will definite agree. At around 5pm me and soon ling when down to 销品茂 to meet the rest. While Cynthia, ling li, Winnie and Janice was waiting for us, they went to eat mango ice before heading to KFC.

After buying, we when back to our hostel and because we brought a lot of things, quite a number of taxi didn’t want to fetch us because of the number of boxes we having.

Reflection: I brought many foods from China back to Singapore for my dear family and friends. Sharing these foods with others is really nice as it can bring joy to others. I am sure my family members and friends will like what I have brought for them. It is not just about sharing foods or delicacy with others. We have to learn to share our feelings, thoughts and even our achievements with others. Last but not least, I would like to say “Sharing is a blessing.”

Day 32-Free and easy

Today I wake up at 12pm, due to the fact that I was deprived of sleep for few days already and it was a free and easy day. We took bus 702 to 光谷 which need around 1 hour journey ride. As it was still early to go to 老鼠街 , we decided to alight one bus stop away from光谷. The first things we saw was Q蛋仔.as we were all hungry and this was nice thus everybody ate this.

Than we continue to walk further down until we came to a shopping mall which is call Chicony

I and soon ling went in to shop while the rest just shop at the streets outside of this shop. Basically the stuff sold inside was very expensive. The male pajama sold in there was 1980rmb and I brought a shirt and a pant for 800rmb.And their Bata shoe was sold at 400rmb (cheapest shoe).soon it was turning dark and we slowly walk to老鼠街 to meet the rest. In老鼠街, the socks and shirts are sold at a very low price. Had 华莱士 for dinner and we took 308 back to 建设一路。

Reflection: Chinese food, in general, is healthy and nutritious. Chinese people often have soy-bean milk（豆浆）, deep-fried dough sticks（油条）, steamed buns（馒头） or congee（粥） as breakfast. The Chinese regard eating as an art, which is a comprehensive combination of sight, smell, touch, taste and even sound. Chinese cuisine is a dominant branch from the Chinese culture - the core is taste while the purpose is to preserve health.
People have different eating or food culture from countries to countries. In Singapore, Singaporeans usually have bread or bee hoon (a kind of noodles) for breakfast. Even though the food that we eat are slightly different, but that does not matter. What really matter are the taste and the nutritious value of the food. We have to eat healthy. Your body is what you eat.

Day 31-湖北省博物馆 and 东湖

Today we are going to two places, 湖北省博物馆 and 东湖.I was very excited today as China was well known for their massive historical data and I looking forward to see those historical paintings, writings, famous people and many more. Beside Hubei provincial museum I was also looking forward as one of the student leaders recently went and he told me than it is a very beautiful place and lots of attractions to play. We are supposed to board the bus before 8.30am but we were earlier as we have learnt our lesson from the wu dang shan trip thus we reach at 8.25am. It was about 30minutes ride there and upon reaching, we saw lots of people queuing up to go in. As we went there in group thus we can go in by the group counter.

The security was much tied and they don’t allow people to bring in and sharp object and water fearing of us damaging the display. The meeting time was 10.30am but as we were from MDE we will need to reach there 15mins earlier.

This is the first piece of artifact I saw when I enter the museumThis is a tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng. There is four windows on it because god never forget to release the soul into the outside world giving him the freedom he use to have thus the maker of the coffin draw windows to allow the soul to go in and out as and when he likes.

The next artifact was this set of bells. It was buried together with the tomb of Marquis Yi of Zeng. The tomb was place in the eastern chamber while this set of 65 bronze bells was place in the central of the chamber. This two are the main highlight for the first floor. And for the second level were the lacquered articles of qin and han dynasties.

This is a place where they recognized all the famous people who have help to contribute to the world. Soon it was time for us to leave for东湖. We when to the meeting time and took last photo of the place.

It was about 5minutes ride from the museum. It is a very beautiful place where u can picnic, ride speed boat, fly kite and many other attractions to play. i wanted to sit in the boat that you will need to cycle in order to move the boat but the tour guide and the teachers do not allow us to play any water activities.

After that we when back to the hostel and our group meet up for project. After project, I went to meet the rest of my friends for dinner, than back to hostel to rest.

Reflection: The ancient history of China reflects the beauty of chinese culture and morality. With more than 5000 years of history, China has a wonderful culture and splendid civilization. During the visit, I really appreciate the antique that were being displayed. The item and the history behind the item was being preserved and passed the information from generation to generation. 历史就是这样奇妙.

Day 30-Coke Factory

Today we are going to coca cola factory. We had to board the bus at 8.30am and take an hour ride journey to the factory. As the expressway was congested, we only reach the factory two hours later. During the journey there, there was a foul smell in the bus and everybody opened the window for better ventilation and circulation of fresh air.

Through the world's largest distribution system, consumers in nearly 200 countries enjoy the Company's products at a rate of more than 1.5 billion servings each day.

It was first sold in a pharmacy in 1866 and at that point of time you will only need 5 cents to enjoy a glass of coca cola. And besides producing coca cola, coca cola(Hubei) produce more than 200 different beverages which in us they produce more than 3,000 different beverages. After the video, we were then brought to view the whole production line. However ,we went there at a wrong timing as all they were cleaning and checking for damages area. She told us that packing was done under low pressure because it will affect the density of the carbon dioxide which is 1.5 times than air. Coca cola was the best and most liked beverages in the world, which also means that they are the world no. 1 beverage company. Thus they participate in any games, be it the Vancouver winter games, FIFA or even the most well known Beijing Olympics to allow people from all over the world to know them. They also use famous artistes to advertise their product.
After visiting the factory, we when back to school before heading to 江汉路步行街to food for picnic for tomorrow picnic at wal-mart. We than went to Ajisen to had our dinner.

Reflection: During the visit to Coca-Cola factory, I learn about the operations and the mass production of coke. The factory was really huge and magnificent. Having a large number of workers in a big factory could sometimes result in quarrel between workers. Beside this due to bureaucracy and excessive red tapes, it could slow down the productivity. Thus, the workers must be united and preserve harmony in the workplace. We are determined to stay united.团结就是力量.If we are united, we can achieve more.

Da 29-Hair cut

Today was practical test. I was doing fine until manual resource leveling. At that point of time I keep undo as I think that I did wrongly thus I might have over undo as at the end of my paper, my other resource was over allocated which should not be that case. After the test, we was given two hours break, thus me Ron and Daryl when to the school canteen to eat while the rest when to MacDonald to have their lunch. My lunch was not bad, however there was just too many green pepper and hardly and meat. As my and Ron don’t eat green pepper we remove all from our bowl and it just fill up one whole empty bowl. After the break, ms neo started on another new topic, teams and diversity. It’s about recognizing the team needs and elements of a successful team. After lesson, we stay back to watch Queen Elizabeth again to write a short summary on it related to teams and diversity.
After school, we decided to go to 发源地 to have a new hair cut. In china, the entire hair stylists are called by their number and not by their name.

I still prefer Cynthia to have this hair style.

As all of them did not bring enough money out, in the end I end up paying the full amount.

Reflection: Getting a hair cut in Singapore in much more expensive than in China. This is due to the high labor or wage costs, rental costs and training costs in Singapore. Thus, having a hair cut in China allows me to enjoy an affordable hair cut. The hair stylist in China is very friendly and amiable. I feel that having a good service is vital as customers will wish to come back and enjoy the excellent service standard.

Day 28-Apologising to deputy director and admin staff

Today, class started at 1pm as Daryl need to go to the hospital for another drip at 11am with the accompany of ms neo and the deputy of the school. For today lesson was a new topic, communication. Different people have different learning style. Some prefer to see things in written form, and prefer to read and study instead of listening. This people are classified under readers. Those who prefer to listen than papers are classified under listener. The third type is the manipulator, they require hands on approach to get the message delivered. And lastly, viewers. They enjoy drawing, drawing like mind maps. Thus, when there is a communication breakdown, it might be due to the different communication skills one acquired.



Paying attention in classAfter lesson, we stay back for consultation, than we show Ms Neo the apologize letter that we have done.

She spotted some mistake and after we amended it, we went to level five (staff room) to give it to the deputy director and admin staff. They are surprised by our actions and say that as long as we learn our mistake, it all right. She added that we are still young. Then we went to have our dinner at the back streets. We had 卤肉饭 for dinner and at around 9pm, the student leaders came to our hostel to see us as we have not been seeing each other for a long time. After they left, I went on to study for tomorrow practical test.

Reflection: I can only learn from a mistake after I have admitted it. But if I courageously stand up and honestly say “This is my mistake and I am responsible”, things will be different .I can learn from my mistake and not repeat it again. Learning from mistakes requires three things:
Putting yourself in situations where you can make interesting mistakes
Having the self-confidence to admit to them Being courageous about making changes
